Local Rules
- OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 27.1)
a. Beyond the boundaries of the course marked with fences, hedges
or white stakes
b. To the left of the white posts when playing the 12th hole
c. To the right of the white posts when playing the 9th hole (see
2 below)
d. The practice ground, marked by white posts.
- 9TH HOLE
The ball in play must cross the Bourn Brook at least twice with separate
shots during the play of this hole.
WATER HAZARDS (Rule 26)
Ordinary water hazards are unmarked or denoted by yellow stakes or lines.
Lateral water hazards are denoted by red stakes or lines. Unless defined
by lines or stakes, the margin of a water hazard is the edge of the
water.
- IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS
Red and yellow stakes denoting water hazards are to be treated as immovable
obstructions. All man madepaths and bridges are immovable obstructions.
- STAKED TREES
Where a staked or netted tree interferes with the players stance or
the area of his intended swing the ball must be lifted without penalty,
and dropped in accordance with the procedure for immovable obstructions.
Rule 24-2b(i). The ball may be cleaned when lifted.
- STONES IN BUNKERS
These are moveable obstructions. Rule 24-1 applies.
- GROUND UNDER REPAIR (Rule 25)
Play is prohibited within G.U.R. demarcated areas. Rule 25-1a and 1b apply.
PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULE
Matchplay - Loss of a hole
Stroke play - Two Strokes
