the course. Over 6,700 yards from the members’ tees and built to USGA championship course standards, a challenge for aspiring champions while being pleasantly playable for all.

Cambridge Meridian Golf Club Pro-Am
In brilliant sunshine the weather
could not have been better for the start of
the 2008 Pro-am.
With 27 teams in the field and all the Professionals
picked from the preceding two day "Order
of Merit" tournament, held on the Wednesday
and Thursday. The Pro-am started off in good
fashion with the course being in an excellent
condition and the standard of play from both
the professionals and amateurs returning some
good scores.
The winning team of the 2008
Pro-am with an excellent score of 19 under:-
John McGivern, Peter Laughlin and Brian Whitelaw.

Cambridge Meridian Classic "Order of
Merit"

Taylor from Chelmsford Golf Club wins the
2008 Cambridge Meridian Classic "Order
of Merit" with an outstanding score of
135 at 11 under.
The two day event has been been an overwhelming
success with some brilliant scores being made
on both days.
Andrew Robinson from Felixstowe Ferry Golf
Club took the lead after the 1st days play
coming in with a score of 66 7 under.
Our own Craig Watson parred the course on
the first days play and came in with a respectable
79 on day 2 to finish with a 152 for the event.
Young Lee Laughlin faired a little better
shooting a 70 on day 1 followed with a 72
on day 2 taking him to 142 for both rounds.
The course is in an outstanding condition
and the golfers scores for the event showed
that. The ground staff have to be congratulated
for all the hard work.
